Fill The Dome is a food drive organized and powered by area youth. Our History In June 2007, student council leaders from each of the Fargo-Moorhead area High Schools got together and formed the Metro Student Council Ambassadors. As a group, they wanted to do something big, something to highlight their senior year of high school. A couple of phone calls, lots of donations and few espressos later, Fill The Dome was born. The goal? Fill the entire floor of the FARGODOME (80,000 sq. ft) with food for local food pantries. 2012 marked the year that Great Plains Food Bank was able to hand out the millionth meal supplied by Fill the Dome. This legacy of giving back is only possible through the passion of area students and the innumerable community supporters. Ten years later, the Metro Student Ambassadors are carrying on the tradition by hosting the 10th Annual Fill the Dome event. Led by a group of outstanding young leaders from area schools, more than 50 schools will be raising food and funds to help those in need throughout the state of North Dakota as well as Clay County in Minnesota. In addition to seeking donations, Metro Area Student Ambassadors hope to make an impact through a new mission statement: ON THE ROAD TO ENDING HUNGER 2016. The students hoped to feed those in need, teach community members about the needs in our state and region, and develop a community where we care for and look out for the needs of each other. Our Mission The Metro Area Student Ambassadors has adopted the phrase “On the Road to End Hunger” to describe Fill The Dome’s mission. Fill The Dome is aimed at feeding those in need in our community, teaching about our community needs, and developing volunteerism.
